And the first time the idea for this company popped into the founder’s mind was while standing ankle deep in the bathroom, trying to stop the tiles from coming off the wall- I had tried to mount a toilet paper holder in the bathroom of my home, and had accidentally hit the hot water pipes while drilling the holes. It was a Sunday afternoon, and it was going sideways BIG TIME.

There where frantic calls to plumbers that went unanswered, furious one-handed typing that could be heard over the sound of steam and the titles cracking and more frantic calls.

In the end help did not come that day

I had to take the time off work the next day to let the plumber in and I started thinking that there must be a better way to deal with these things.

Not long thereafter I was explaining to a colleague of mine that we were trying to create a business that would provide a service whereby customers could log on to our website and application, describe the problem that they were having with photos and videos, and that our service would recommend service providers based on the customers need.

Their time frame,

The proximity of the service provider to the customer,

The customers budget

and service ratings of the service providers as rated by other customers

at ANY TIME of the DAY

But the name we had in mind wasn’t available.

So, Clive rephased that we were trying to make things QUICKER, EASIER and CHEAPER – and just like that our business had a name that described exactly what we do.
